Show HN: Moe-Direct – MoE Models far larger than your RAM, on a consumer desktop
I wanted to try using the larger models on my computer (32GB RAM, RTX 5080, Gen5 NVMe), but the best I could do was around 30B. So I started with the idea that it might be possible by taking advantage of the fact that MoE models use only some of the experts rather than all of them.
MoE-Direct essentially uses the three layers of SSD, RAM, and VRAM instead of residing entirely in memory, caching only the necessary experts in RAM and making the model usable even with resources far smaller than required.
In my environment, I obtained the following decode results: Kimi K2.6: 1.03 tok/s. Qwen3.5-122B: 5.59–5.69 tok/s, with decode performance about 2.3 times better than plain mmap for the same binary.
The current project is still far from the intended stage of practical use, and there are still many problems that need to be addressed. Since MoE-Direct is still in its early stages and external usability reviews and testing have not yet been conducted, I am very interested in feedback on my project and participation in testing.
(Linux and macOS do not have a test environment available at the moment, so it is only possible on Windows.)

Hello Everyone,
I have been working on Rysh (Apache 2.0 licence), a new AI harnessing tool that lets you have the followings
1. Build fleet of agents that communicates to each other (CEO -> 5 Managers -> 20 Worker Agents ). Just talk to CEO agent to finish your tasks. It coordinates managers and managers coordinates their own workers 2. Build fleet of Claude agents where each communicates to each other and they write an Agent Board about their progress. You can watch the slack-like messages on the Agent Board and see how they are progressing. 3. Do Graph engineering. I published a white paper that includes 15 Graph Engineering patterns. All can be implemented with Rysh 4. Do Loop Engineering with Leash. Define a goal and budget (e.g. $5), and it will try to finish before consuming all budget. If it cannot finish it in the budget, it write the findings and prepare the next run, and wait your new budget 5. It provides MCP tunnelling. You don't need to publish your REST API, it will hide it via tunnelling and will share it with other agent end points 6. You can use it as Assistant like OpenClaw, and access it through Slack, Whatsapp etc. 7. It does automatic secret reduction, which helps you keep your secrets in your local. Your secrets never reaches out to AI agents. They are obscured.
